Lark Cake Shop opened in 2007 on an (at the time) unlikely stretch of Sunset Blvd. We started with the idea of baking cakes, cupcakes, cookies, pies and bars that would be inspired by the bohemian modern esthetic of Silver Lake. The “look” of our baked goods would be stylized and simple, refined yet interesting. The taste; delicious and homemade. In 2015, we added a second location in the Historic Highlands neighborhood of Pasadena. The neighborhood has welcomed us with open arms and we look forward to becoming an even bigger part of the community each and every year.
We specialize in the rich, sweet and delicious. Whenever possible we use the freshest locally produced or distributed ingredients in our products. We crack our own eggs every day. We do not use liquid eggs or other food service shortcuts. We use top of the line gourmet ingredients in all our recipes. Our dairy supplier is the Challenge Dairy Cooperative, a cooperative of more than 600 California dairies. We try to minimize our environmental footprint by using compostable cups, clamshell boxes, utensils and straws. We also use paper bags and boxes whenever possible.
Family owned and operated, Lark Cake Shop is committed to serving the finest baked goods available and providing unmatched customer service. We look forward serving you!
Frequently Asked Questions
Because the majority of our cupcakes are made with perishable ingredients, they must be kept cold. While cold, the cupcakes are not as moist or creamy as they are at room temperature. We recommend that you allow the cupcakes to come to room temperature before enjoying them. This will allow the cake to return its natural moistness and the frostings to return their natural creaminess.
Circumstances will dictate, but we recommend no longer than an hour.
We make 6″ and 8″ cakes fresh daily in a variety of flavors for walk-in customers. However, there is no guarantee what we’ll have on a day-to-day basis. If you need a specific cake, it is best to call ahead and place an order.
We use an outside delivery service that can deliver virtually anywhere in the Southland.

Yes, but because our recipe makes 24 mini-cupcakes and we don’t sell them in the shop, they must be ordered in lots of 24 of the same flavor at least a day in advance in most instances.

No. We make a flourless chocolate cake and cupcake but all of our products, including vegan and flourless products, are produced in a kitchen that uses nuts, eggs, dairy and soy as well as flour.
Yelp is a terrific way to get feedback on our performance. We try extremely hard to create great products and provide customers with an amazing experience. There are times when we fall short and there are times when we exceed expectations. You’ll see all of this on Yelp and we invite you to look.
You’ll also notice we don’t respond to negative Yelp posts. This is not because we don’t care about customer opinions, but because we believe the customer is always right, regardless of the situation, factual or otherwise.
If you have an issue with any aspect of our business, please send us an email at info@larkcakeshop.com or give us a call in Silver Lake at 323-667-2968 or Pasadena at 626-798-1031. We believe in 100% customer satisfaction and would like to hear from you.
